Zip line tours
The Goliath tour is the big one. It has five lines that Foxfire calls some of the fastest and longest in the country, with speeds up to 60 mph, runs of more than half a mile and heights over 500 feet, with views toward Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Riders must be at least 10 years old and weigh between 100 and 250 pounds.
The waterfall canopy course suits younger riders. It has seven zip lines and two sky bridges through the tree canopy and flies over Lost Mine waterfall and the creek. You start on three intro lines before moving up to the higher ones. The minimum age is 7 and the weight range is 45 to 265 pounds. Foxfire also sells both courses together at a discount, and the combo follows the Goliath age and weight rules. Anyone under 16 needs adult supervision on every course.
Swinging bridge and trails
The Bridge to Prosperity is a suspended swinging bridge over Foxfire Gorge, 4 feet wide and more than 400 feet long, and Foxfire says it is one of the longest in America. Two hiking trails begin past a covered bridge where visitors hang written wishes. One climbs about a mile up the mountain to Lost Mine Waterfall. The River Walk Trail follows the U-shaped river that loops through the property, which is a good place to sit and listen to the water. Kids can use an obstacle course by the creek trail and a playground with Amish-made equipment shaped like fire trucks, helicopters and Cinderella’s carriage.
Climbing, ropes and free fall
The Gorilla Climbing Wall is more than 60 feet high with five lanes of different difficulty. The self-guided ropes course sits up in the treetops with 10 elements and two zip lines, and Foxfire says it is the only one like it in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. For a quick thrill there is also a free fall from the top of the 60-foot Tower of Nations.
The Fox and The Apple
The park also runs The Fox and The Apple, a hard cider shop with six flavors for guests of legal drinking age.
