About Smoky Mountain Deer Farm
The Smoky Mountain Deer Farm and Exotic Petting Zoo sits in a 140-acre foothills setting in Sevierville. It is a hands-on, barnyard-style stop for families. Here you do more than pet the deer: guests walk among Fallow and Sika deer and hand-feed them. You will also meet a wide mix of other animals, including camels, zebras, zonkeys, reindeer, Rocky Mountain elk, emus, ostriches, pygmy goats, Highland cattle, donkeys, miniature horses and Continental Giant rabbits. Horse lovers have two options. The old-fashioned pony ride lets the littlest riders take a gentle ride led by a parent. The Deer Farm Riding Stables offer trail rides for first-time and “rusty” riders, and most of the wide, wooded trails are shaded, with views of the Smoky Mountains. Children ages 5 and up can ride their own horse, and younger children can double up with an adult. Horseback riding now requires a reservation, so call ahead. Buses, RVs and tractor-trailers should also call before arriving, since parking can be limited.
