Gatlinburg Attraction
About Hillbilly Golf
Hillbilly Golf has been a Gatlinburg tradition since the early 1970s, when founder Shelby Boyd opened a mini golf course on the side of a mountain. Your round starts with a ride on the attraction’s famous incline lift, which carries golfers about 300 feet up the hillside. From there you play your way back down through the forest. There are two separate 18-hole courses, Course A and Course B, each lined with Appalachian architecture and quirky hillbilly-themed obstacles and inventions, with views of the Smoky Mountains along the way. The Boyd family still runs the attraction, keeping the old-school charm that has brought families back for generations. A round of 18 holes usually takes about 45 to 60 minutes depending on group size, and groups such as schools and tour parties are welcome. It is located at the north end of Gatlinburg on the Parkway near the national park entrance, with free parking for golfers.
