One of my favorite places to eat in Gatlinburg is the Peddler Restaurant. However, on a recent last minute trip my wife and I were unable to get reservations in time so we selected another favorite, The Park Grill.

The Park Grill in Gatlinburg is very well known for its family atmosphere and I can confidently say that it lived up to its reputation as a family-friendly restaurant with a lot to offer. As soon as we walked through the doors, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel like part of the family, just as the website promised.

  • Delicious Food
  • Perfect Location
  • Spacious Environment
  • Friendly Staff

The first thing that caught our attention was the delicious food. There truly was something for everyone in our family, from the perfectly cooked beef and pork to the fresh fish and tender chicken. The salad bar was a hit with its array of fresh ingredients and homemade dressings, and the kids were thrilled with their special menu featuring favorites like fried shrimp and chicken tenders.

One of the most fascinating aspects of our visit was learning about the restaurant’s history. If you need to wait for a seat, the history of the building is perfectly outlined and supported with pictures to help speed up your wait. The fact that the wood used to build the restaurant was sourced from the Payette National Forest in Idaho and handcrafted with such care and attention to detail added a whole new layer of appreciation for the place.

The location of The Park Grill couldn’t be better, situated right at the main entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. After a day of exploring the park, it was the perfect spot to refuel and take in the stunning mountain lodge scenery.

The spacious dining area was ideal for our family, and we could easily see how it would be perfect for hosting larger gatherings. The private and semi-private dining rooms could accommodate up to 150 guests, making it a great option for future family reunions or birthday parties. So, if you are semi-local and have a need for a memorably birthday party or a wedding rehearsal dinner, this place would fit your needs.

My wife and I called ahead for seating earlier in the day so when we arrived there was no wait. Actually, we arrived 30 minutes early and the staff quickly accommodated us with a table. They were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The wait staff was also attentive and our food arrived quickly, perfectly prepared.

Earlier I mentioned that our favorite restaurant in Gatlinburg was The Peddler Restaurant. It is our favorite because of the history our family had with so many special occasion meals we have experienced there. Without going into detail (will do so in another post), one of the favorite features that stands out is their salad bar. I must say, similar to the Peddler, the salad bar at the Park Grill is the best in the area.

Overall, our experience at The Park Grill was exceptional, and we can’t wait to return. If you’re planning a visit to the Smokies, I highly recommend making a stop at this wonderful restaurant.
